OWU Students Say:
"OWU has challenged me academically with its rigorous curriculum and has helped me discover leadership abilities I didn't know I had."

We appreciate the hard work you do in helping students select the right college. For many of your students, Ohio Wesleyan might be the perfect fit.

Ohio Wesleyan is a small national university with a big international presence. Here are just a few of the attributes that set Ohio Wesleyan apart:

Travel-Learning: Students and professors travel together to gain on-the-ground perspectives on issues studied in class. Travel-learning classes have taken place throughout the world, from Mexico to Vietnam, from Brazil to India, and from Ecuador to Bangladesh.

Theory-to-Practice Grants: These competitive grants allow students to conduct independent research everywhere in the world. Students design their own projects and budgets, and apply for grant money. Funded projects have been as diverse as Muslim-American relations (Pakistan), the neuroscience of music (Scotland), archaeological study of Minoan civilization (Crete), and nation building (Ghana).

Course Connections: Connected courses are long-term, in-depth investigations of specific topics from a variety of disciplines. The study of justice (Crime, Responsibility, and Punishment), for example, includes courses from botany/microbiology, philosophy, politics and government, psychology, and sociology/anthropology. Students choose a topic of interest to them and take as many connected courses as they wish, often satisfying distributional requirements along the way.
