An Extraordinary Legacy Program
Ohio Wesleyan has a long, proud tradition of family legacy. We’re gratified that so many parents and grandparents continue to recommend Ohio Wesleyan to their college-bound family members.
To honor the loyalty of generations of our alumni, Ohio Wesleyan has created one of the nation’s most comprehensive and generous legacy programs.
Legacy Visit
The program begins with a special college visit called “Keeping It in the Family,” to which legacies are invited to learn about OWU today. Although our enduring values remain the same—small classes, close relationships with faculty, a close-knit student body—OWU changes as the world changes, offering a relevant, practical liberal arts education that prepares students for the world they will enter when they graduate.
The Legacy Grant
When it’s time to apply to OWU, families often are surprised to learn that Ohio Wesleyan offers a $15,000 per year Legacy Grant for a total of $60,000 over a student’s four years. Qualified students who are children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and step-grandchildren of alumni are eligible for this special grant.
Legacy Internships
The program continues with our legacy internships. Legacies may apply for internships in various academic departments and offices at Ohio Wesleyan, build marketable skills, and receive a stipend for their work.
